The Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) is dedicated to understanding contemporary culture through photography. The organization supports artists through exhibitions, awards, and residencies, and extends the reach of these endeavors via publications, free public programs, and international outreach.

Each year, CPW supports ten emerging BIPOC photographers through a month-long paid artist residency that expands critical dialogue around diversity, race, and identity. CPW also produces nine exhibitions annually that highlight critical approaches to visual culture. Through these initiatives, CPW strives to promote a more equitable and diverse society with artistic inquiry, professional development, scholarly research, critical dialogue, and local engagement.
